Program
Description
Students receive a great amount of individual attention.
Every student will have a private lesson each week, ensemble
coaching and master classes with our world-renowned and highly
praised performers and teachers. Students’ days begin
with a three-hour session that focuses on in-depth musical
interpretation and the development of chamber music skills.
After a break for lunch, students have another hour of classes.
Then they have two hours to take advantage of the numerous
leisure and sports facilities in the Valley including swimming,
boating, hiking, biking and ice skating. Or they may continue
to practice outside in our beautiful setting.
In the evenings we hold workshops, orchestra rehearsals, lectures
and informal concerts. Participants are offered performance
opportunities at these concerts.
Solo Bach Workshop
The Solo Bach Workshop is being offered this year to advanced
students ready to undertake an indepth study of a piece from
the solo Bach repertoire. Assignments will be made ahead of
time and students should arrive prepared to play their piece.
They will attend, and may have the opportunity to participate
in master classes, and we will have special Workshops dedicated
to baroque performance as it pertains to this music. In addition,
students will have at least one extra private lesson on their
piece, lots of time to practice individually, as well as the
opportunity to perform their solo Bach piece. These students'
chamber group responsibilities will be limited to allow them
adequate time to devote to the study of their Bach repertoire.
